The first day of Community Service is provided through the Career Development class. It presents a forum for the student of massage therapy and holistic health to listen to discussions and to determine their personal clinical choice. We ask: ‘Are you interested in working with the elderly; or perhaps with people recovering from substance abuse? Would you like to intern in a spa or salon?’ This placement you receive on that first day secures your internship in one of various establishments. Choose from convalescent homes, recovery centers, hospitals, clinics, spas, salons, etc. Students are responsible for completing the practical massages for their clinical project. At the end of the semester, each student presents his/her project to the class. Note that your instructor will help place you, help you design your project, and help you to fulfill your plan of sharing your work with the population group of your choice.
